Teks is a card game that children usually collects. The game be played with two methods: Clapping and toss method. The players must bet on which side of the card will face on the ground. The card then will go to the player who won the bet.

Mechanics

To play the game, players must have their teks, a small rectangular card with characters printed on it. In general, your card should be facing up to win the game. It can be played with two methods.

The first method is called “pitik” or “toss” method where the players would agree first how many cards would they give if they lost. Each played should choose one card each, fold it, and toss it as high as they can in the air. The player whose card is facing down should give the cards they promised to give to player who one (the one whose card is facing up).

The second method is called “salpakan” or “clapping method”. Two players should have a card on their palms. They would clap their hands towards their opponent’s and let the teks fall. If one player’s card is facing upwards, that player win the game and gets both cards. If both cards facing downwards or upwards at the same time, no one wins the round and is called a draw.
