Batuhang Bola is the Filipino version of dodgeball, usually played in open spaces where there’s plenty of room to run, dodge, and throw. It’s a fun and fast-paced game that builds agility, teamwork, and coordination while keeping everyone active and on their toes.
Mechanics
Players must gather into two teams, hitters (team 1) and the group who will dodge (team 2). There will be a line where players or hitters will stand on each side, on which they are not allowed to cross, while the group who will dodge must stay at the middle of the court. The hitters must hit the group who will dodge and if a player is hit it means they are out but if the group who will dodge catches the ball they gain a life on which they can choose any dead player to enter the court again. If all the players are hit, indicates that the hitters won.
It can be played with a timer where in the winner is decided on which team was able to take out the most opponent members within the given time.
On some versions of the game, if the last player was able to dodge the ball 10 consecutive times, all the other members can come back to the game.
How to Play Batuhang Bola!
Split players into two teams. One team becomes the hitters who stand on opposite sides of the court, and the other team becomes the dodgers who stay in the middle.
Step 1
The hitters try to hit the dodgers with the ball while staying behind their lines. Dodgers must avoid getting hit to stay in the game.
Step 2
Step 4
The game ends when all dodgers are hit, making the hitters the winners. In some versions, if the last dodger successfully dodges the ball 10 times, all teammates come back into the game. A timer can also be used, and the team that eliminates the most opponents within the time wins.
Step 3
If a dodger catches the ball, they can bring back a teammate who was out. If a dodger is hit, they are out of the game.
